Our third acquisition, "The Italian"

Jump Street Films is excited to announce it has acquired THE ITALIAN as its third release to co-distribute with Sharmill Films. The official Russian entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 2006 Academy Awards, it has won 8 Grand Prizes and 28 awards worldwide, having already been invited to over 40 film festivals. Sony Pictures Classics has acquired the film for North America and will release it in late January 2007. The Australian release is planned to follow this in early 2007. THE ITALIAN will have its Australian premiere at the Russian Film Festival, to be held in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra from late September. THE ITALIAN is a heart-warming social realist drama and promises to be a favourite with audiences when it screens in Australia. For more information, check out the home page.
